ClickPatrol → TikTok Ads tracking template

ClickPatrol on TikTok uses destination URL parameters (source=t).

Append to the ad destination URL. Leave __CAMPAIGN_ID__ / __AID__ / __CID__ unchanged — TikTok replaces them at click time.

cr=__CID__&utm_id=__CAMPAIGN_ID__&utm_campaign=__CAMPAIGN_NAME__&adi=__AID__&utm_medium=paid&utm_source=tiktok&source=t&utm_content=__CID_NAME__

How to install

  1. Open TikTok Ads Manager → ad creatives → destination URL / URL parameters.
  2. Append the macro string to your landing URL. Leave tokens like __CAMPAIGN_ID__ unchanged.
  3. Remember TikTok’s naming trap: __AID__ is ad group and __CID__ is creative.
  4. Save, then click through once and verify parameters on the landing page.

What ClickPatrol reads

  • source=t — TikTok traffic.
  • cr=__CID__ (creative) and adi=__AID__ (ad group).
  • UTMs with utm_source=tiktok and utm_medium=paid.

Naming trap: on TikTok, __AID__ is the ad group and __CID__ is the creative — opposite of what many Google advertisers expect.

FAQ

Where do I paste the ClickPatrol → TikTok Ads template?

Paste into the ad’s Destination URL / URL parameters in TikTok Ads. There is no separate Tracking template field like Google Ads.

Will this break my landing page URL?

Templates that start with {lpurl} or include u={lpurl} / url={lpurl} preserve your final URL. On Meta/TikTok/LinkedIn, you append macros to the destination URL directly. Always click-test after saving.

Where are the TikTok Ads macros documented?

See the TikTok Ads parameter reference on this site.
