How to install
- Open Google Ads → Admin → Account settings → Tracking.
- Paste the template into the Tracking template field.
- Click Test, then Save.
- Replace any placeholders (account IDs, domains) before going live.
Why this stack
ClickPatrol’s Google redirect goes through trck-001.clckptrl.com with source=g. Replace [[CLICKPATROL_ID]] before going live.
Other networks use URL parameters instead of this redirect — see ClickPatrol for Meta, Microsoft, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest.
Common pitfalls
- Leaving
[[CLICKPATROL_ID]]unreplaced breaks the click path. - If you also need UTMs / Hyros / Northbeam, put those in Final URL suffix — see the combo recipes.
See the Google Ads parameter guide.
FAQ
Where do I paste the ClickPatrol → Google Ads template?
Paste into the Tracking template field in Google Ads account (or campaign) settings.
Will this break my landing page URL?
Templates that start with {lpurl} or include u={lpurl} / url={lpurl} preserve your final URL. On Meta/TikTok/LinkedIn, you append macros to the destination URL directly. Always click-test after saving.
Where are the Google Ads macros documented?
See the Google Ads parameter reference on this site.
