AppsFlyer → Google Ads tracking template

AppsFlyer is a mobile measurement partner (MMP). For app install / app engagement traffic, Google Ads sends the click through AppsFlyer (pid=googleadwords_int) so installs attribute to campaign, ad group, creative and keyword before the store redirect.

Company profile: AppsFlyer certified tracker. Driving to a website instead of the store? Use the AppsFlyer Final URL suffix.

Tracking template
https://app.appsflyer.com/{app_id}?pid=googleadwords_int&af_c_id={campaignid}&af_adset_id={adgroupid}&af_ad_id={creative}&af_sub_siteid={placement}&af_keywords={keyword}&advertising_id={gclid}&redirect=true&af_click_lookback=7d

How to install

  1. Open Google Ads → AdminAccount settingsTracking.
  2. Paste the template into the Tracking template field.
  3. Click Test, then Save.
  4. Replace any placeholders (account IDs, domains) before going live.

What to replace

  • {app_id} — your AppsFlyer app ID (not a Google ValueTrack token).
  • Confirm the integration media source is googleadwords_int in the AppsFlyer dashboard.
  • Optional: tune af_click_lookback to match your attribution window.

Field ownership

This string owns Tracking template. Do not paste a second redirect (ClickCease / ClickPatrol) in the same field. Put landing-page UTMs or call-tracking keys in Final URL suffix only when the click still reaches a web URL.

FAQ

Is {app_id} a Google ValueTrack parameter?

No — replace it with your AppsFlyer app ID from the AF dashboard. Google will not expand {app_id}.

Can I combine AppsFlyer with ClickPatrol?

Not as two Tracking templates. App MMP redirects usually need the full click path. For web landings, prefer the suffix recipe beside a fraud redirect.
